Parenting is one of the most difficult of all the jobs we will ever have — and the job is getting harder and more complex every year. We promise to do everything we can at school to help each child be successful, and by suggesting some additional reading that can help you prepare your questions or follow up on counseling sessions at school. You may wish to review the Archdiocese Standards Initiative presentation. Standards-based instruction spells out exactly what students need to know at each grade level and then assesses whether they’ve acquired that knowledge.
(Grades 6 - 8) Helping
Your Child Succeed in School is a monthly pamphlet containing many
helpful tips and strategies parents can use at home to ensure success in a
student's educational journey.
Many of the ideas offered will simply confirm
what you may already be doing — and some will be new. Look for this
in your child's backpack each month.
Schools Attuned Program recognizes that different minds learn things differently, and through evaluating learning patterns, the program builds on student strengths with teachers working closely with parents to help make success possible. This program is in its first phase of implementation at St. Peter's, but you can learn more from the website of the program's developer, Dr. Mel Levine.
ABC’s of Staying in Touch with Your Child’s School is an A to Z sheet with tips and techniques for you and your child to get the most out of their education. The five-page sheet can be viewed and printed in pdf format. (free pdf document-reading software is available from Adobe Acrobat® website)

Please remember
School begins each day at 8:25 a.m.
Every child is expected to be on time each day. Students who
are late disrupt their day as well as the day for everyone in their classes.
Supervision of students begins at 8:10 a.m. The Before School Program is available if you need to drop your child off before then — as early as 7:30 a.m. for a fee of $1 per day. For the AfterSchool Program, please be sure your emergency information forms have been returned. Phone numbers must be kept up to date at all times.
Each Wednesday there is a 12:35 p.m. early dismissal. Teachers use this time for professional development, meetings, conferences, etc.
We serve white or chocolate milk for a fee of $35 per child for the year. Checks should be made payable to St. Peter's Interparish School and given to homeroom teachers.
The Board has issued a new policy for returned checks. It states:
"...school payments for any particular student's account must be made by money order, certified check, bank draft or similar instrument, but not cash, after any time when two previous payments to the account have been made by personal checks that were not backed by sufficient funds. This policy will apply when two personal checks have not cleared either in any single school year or in any calendar year."
It is absolutely imperative that payments be made on time, if any account is more than 5 days overdue, a $25 late fee will be added to balance for the first month late. The late fee will increase by $10 for each sucess late payment. The school reserves the right to re-evaluate a student's enrollment status if tuition payments are in arrears.
